There were a mixed bag of results for Belvedere teams this past Wednesday.

In rugby, the Senior 1 had a young team out against Kilkenny College. The game ebbed and flowed but some crucial scores saw the visitors eventually run out 10-24 winners.

The Senior 2nds were well in control, 44-5 up when the game was blown up early due to a serious injury to a Kilkenny player. We wish him a speedy recovery.

The TY’s visited their old adversaries in Blackrock. The A team were disappointed to be on the end of a 32-14 loss. In a physical encounter, injuries and indiscipline didn’t help their efforts and they will look to learn from the game going forward.

Their compatriots on the B team had a far easier afternoon coming out the winners, 66-21, in a high scoring affair.

Finally, on the soccer pitch, the Senior soccer team ran out for their opening game of the season in a friendly against Blackrock. Despite a lively opening in which Belvo were 2-0 up, a devastating run of 6 injuries saw the visitors eventually prevail 5-2.
